CODING CLUB
MOTIVATION
Coding skill is seen as one of the foundational skills of competent professionals, and it has a significant impact on the placement and career of graduates from all streams. The Coding Club’s aim is to create and maintain a focused student community that dwells deeper into the art of developing practical applications using coding and computer science concepts. It strives to create and foster an active group of students who enjoy programming solutions and extend their domain knowledge to solve larger real-world problems.
OBJECTIVE
The overall objective is to provide connected learning to improve coding skills and learning beyond syllabus. The benefits would be nurturing coding reinforcing domain knowledge, improve employability and create entrepreneurship. Student level committees with specific streams could be formed to conduct events at college level including competitions with the support of IT companies.

Execution Plan
- Weekly discussion, quiz and challenges on algorithm design, data structures and problem-solving approaches. The activities not only focus on coding but also on logical, analytical and problem solving skills.
- Local competition in a platform such as vJudge, Neo NERD, NeoCodeathon etc. to reach every student on campus.
- Participation in competitions conducted by Hackerrank, Hackerearth and geeksforgeeks etc.
- Preparation for global coding competitions conducted by professional bodies and industry leaders like ACM-ICPC, Google Code Jam, Google Summer of Code, and other online coding events
- Workshop and technical talks on various competitions and concepts of computer science will be conducted through the club. The club will also organize talks/sessions by seniors and alumni about internship and placement preparation
- The club aspires to improve the coding skills of students from all programmes of our institution. So, the events may be tailored appropriately to meet the needs of the students from various programmes, streams and coding exposure.

Performance Improvement
By monitoring, tracking and improving the performance of our students in competitions and placement, the club aspires to improve the same.
