Welcome to the Department of Robotics and Automation Engineering, PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore.

Founded in 2011, our department is one of the newest departments in our college.

For the young generation of today what started as a mere hobby has become a passion - 'Robotics'! We at PSG College of Technology understand this passion and are all set to streamline their hopes and dreams.

Robotics is a new branch of Engineering that involves design, development and operation of robots – a branch that is an overlap of several engineering disciplines like electrical, mechanics, electronics, computer science and artificial intelligence. The faculty members of this department come from diverse backgrounds, but are united by our common passion for Robotics that we share with the young minds that join us and we work together to ignite their dreams.

I certainly believe that all our efforts will produce fruitful results. Our future Engineers will lead the science and technology of Robotics to serve the nation in a better way.

The department of Robotics and Automation Engineering was established with an undergraduate programme in "Robotics and Automation" and was formally inaugurated on Monday, 25th July 2011 by Mr. Sriny Sundararajan- Head, OEM Business, Precise Automation, California, USA in the presence of Mr. C. R. Swaminathan, Chief Executive, PSG Institutions, Dr. R. Rudramoorthy, Principal, PSG Tech, Dr. P. Radhakrishnan, Director, PSG Institute of Advanced Studies and Dr. B. Vinod,HoD-In Charge of the Department.

The department of Robotics and Automation Engineering was established to meet the growing demand for trained engineers in the field of Industrial Automation. Automation Engineering is a cross-sectional discipline that requires sound, proportional knowledge in hardware as well as software development and their applications. This unique programme is tailored to prepare quality Automation Engineers for various application segments like manufacturing, defence, food, aerospace, medicine and other services.
