The Asian Regional Research Programme on Small and Medium Scale Industries in Asia: Energy, Environment and Climate-Phase II (ARRPEEC II), funded by the Swedish international Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) and coordinated by the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) started with effect from January 1999. Countries involved include India, China, Philippines, Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

PSG College of Technology is selected as the National Research Institution (NRI) for India.
